Connect Planzer to AI assistants

Connect Claude, ChatGPT, Codex, Cursor and other AI assistants to Planzer with MCP, so they can read your day and plan it with you. A Pro feature.

Connect Planzer to Claude, ChatGPT, Codex, Cursor and other AI assistants that support MCP (Model Context Protocol). Your assistant can then read your day and plan it with you: add tasks, give them time slots around your meetings and tick them off. This is part of Planzer Pro.

What you need

  • Planzer Pro

  • An assistant that supports custom MCP connectors (sometimes called connectors, apps or MCP servers)

  • The server URL: https://api.planzer.io/mcp. You'll also find it in Planzer under Settings → Integrations → AI assistants (MCP).

Connect Claude (claude.ai and Claude Desktop)

  1. In Claude, open Settings → Connectors and choose to add a custom connector.

  2. Name it Planzer and paste https://api.planzer.io/mcp as the URL.

  3. Click Connect. A Planzer page opens: sign in if asked, then click Allow Claude.

Connect ChatGPT

  1. In ChatGPT's settings, open the section for apps or connectors and add a custom one. Depending on your plan, you may need to turn on developer mode first.

  2. Paste https://api.planzer.io/mcp as the server URL and choose OAuth for authentication.

  3. Sign in to Planzer when asked and click Allow.

Connect Claude Code

Run this in your terminal, then type /mcp in Claude Code and choose Planzer to sign in:

claude mcp add --transport http planzer https://api.planzer.io/mcp

Connect Codex

Run these in your terminal. The second opens your browser to sign in to Planzer:

codex mcp add planzer --url https://api.planzer.io/mcp
codex mcp login planzer

Connect Cursor and other apps

Add an MCP server with the URL https://api.planzer.io/mcp. In Cursor you can also add this to mcp.json:

{ "mcpServers": { "planzer": { "url": "https://api.planzer.io/mcp" } } }

Apps that can't sign in with a browser can use an API key instead: create one in Settings → Integrations → API keys and send it as the header Authorization: Bearer pk_….

What you can ask

  • "Plan my day around my meetings and give each task a time slot."

  • "Add the action items from this email as tasks for tomorrow."

  • "What's still open this week? Move anything I won't get to into next week."

  • "Find an hour for deep work on Thursday and schedule the report there."

  • "Start a timer on the design review."

Your assistant can see your tasks, projects, tags and calendar events, and it can create, change, complete and delete tasks, schedule them in your calendar and start timers. Times are in your time zone. Assistants usually ask before deleting anything.

Disconnect an assistant

Each connected assistant gets its own key, named after it (for example "Claude"). Go to Settings → Integrations → API keys and click Delete next to it. It loses access right away.

Good to know

  • When you use these tools, the task details your assistant reads are sent to that assistant's provider (for example Anthropic or OpenAI) under their terms.

  • To schedule tasks in your calendar, connect a Google, Outlook or iCloud calendar in Planzer first.

  • On the free plan you can connect, but your assistant will tell you the tools are part of Pro.
