Routines

Create routines, sets of tasks you add to a day in one go, and add them to Today or your Inbox.

A routine is a set of tasks you add to a day in one go, like a morning or shutdown routine.

Create a routine

  1. Open the user menu (your initials in the top-right corner) and choose Templates.

  2. Scroll down to Routines.

  3. Click New routine.

  4. Give it a Routine name, for example “Morning routine”.

  5. Add the tasks. For each task you can set a title, estimate, priority, tag and project. You’ll see the total time at the bottom.

  6. Save the routine.

A routine can hold up to 50 tasks.

Save today’s tasks as a routine

Already have a good day planned? On the Routines section, click Save today’s tasks as a routine. Planzer copies today’s tasks with their titles, estimates, priorities, tags and projects into a new routine that you can name and tweak.

Add a routine to your day

There are two ways:

  • From a day column: click the small arrow next to Add Task at the bottom of any day. Under Routines, pick the routine and its tasks are added to that day.

  • From the Templates page: choose whether to add the routine to Today or your Inbox, then add it.

Each routine task becomes a normal task, so you can reorder, edit, schedule or delete it just like any other.

Edit or delete a routine

On the Templates page, click Edit or Delete on the routine. You can also jump there with Manage routines in the arrow menu next to Add Task, or create one with Create a routine.

Routines, templates or repeating tasks?

  • Use a routine when you want to add several tasks at once, whenever you choose.

  • Use a template for a single, detailed task you create again and again, such as one with a checklist of subtasks.

  • Use a repeating task when one task should come back automatically on a fixed schedule.
